Smart Vehicle Intelligence – The Safety You Need

Modern vehicles come equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) that improve safety, comfort, and collision avoidance.

These systems include Forward Collision Alert, Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitoring, and more.

Each feature relies on sensors, cameras, radar, and control modules. Together, they interpret the environment and assist drivers in real time.

As these technologies become standard, proper calibration after a collision is critical to restoring safety and performance.

Forward Collision Alert (FCA)

icon forward collision alert

FCA uses a forward-facing camera, radar, or both. It alerts drivers with lights and sounds when a vehicle is too close.

  • Green: System is active and detects a vehicle ahead.
  • Yellow/Orange: You’re following too closely.
  • Red (flashing): A potential collision is imminent. An audio alert may also sound.

Different vehicle makes use different methods.

➡️ Always check your vehicle’s service manual for exact functionality.

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)icon forward collision alert

ACC expands on cruise control using radar and front cameras. It maintains speed while adjusting for the distance to other vehicles.

The system accelerates or slows your vehicle based on traffic.

Set your desired speed and choose a following distance: short, medium, or long.

Some systems stop the car entirely, while others do not.

Additional features may include curve-speed reduction and stop-and-go traffic support.

Lane Keep Assist (LKA)

LKA helps you stay in your lane using a front-facing camera.

  • Green icon: LKA is active
  • Yellow/Orange: You’re nearing lane boundaries
  • Audible alert: Warns when drifting occurs

LKA includes steering assist, gently nudging the wheel back to center. It doesn’t activate when turn signals are used.

Pedestrian Detection

Pedestrian Detection uses sensors and cameras to detect people in the vehicle’s path. It alerts the driver or applies brakes to reduce impact.

The system performs best at low speeds but may be affected by darkness or weather.

Traffic Sign Recognition

Traffic Sign Recognition uses a front-facing camera to identify road signs. The system displays signs in your dashboard cluster and may issue warnings if you ignore them.

Some systems can remember frequent signs for quicker detection.

Lane Departure Warning System (LDW / LDWS)

LDW detects lane drift using the front-facing camera.

  • It provides visual and audio alerts but does not include steering assist.
  • System alerts activate at speeds above 30 mph
  • Turn signals must be off for alerts to trigger
Collision Mitigating Braking

Automatic Emergency Braking systems help prevent collisions with vehicles or pedestrians. They use radar and camera inputs to sense danger ahead.

When a crash is detected:

  • A visual, audio, or tactile alert is triggered
  • If the driver doesn’t respond, the brakes apply automatically
Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM)

BSM uses sensors in the mirrors or rear bumper. It detects vehicles or objects in adjacent lanes and alerts you visually and audibly.

  • Visual icon on the mirror glows yellow/orange
  • Audio alert triggers when using the turn signal
Adaptive Headlighting

Adaptive Headlights adjust based on steering input and road curvature. They swivel in the direction of your turn to better light your path.

Performance improves at slower speeds. This system enhances visibility at night or in low-light conditions.

Driver Status Monitoring

DMS monitors driver alertness using cameras and infrared sensors. It reads eye movement, head position, and facial activity to detect fatigue or distraction.

Some systems issue break reminders or warning alerts when attention lapses.
